5 Jaw-Dropping iPhone 17 Pro Leaks

Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event on September 9, 2025, is just hours away, and the excitement for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max is at an all-time high. With leaks and rumors swirling, the iPhone 17 series promises major upgrades that could make these phones stand out. From an 8X telephoto camera to vapour chamber cooling, here are the five biggest iPhone 17 Pro leaks to know before the launch.

1. 8X Telephoto Camera for Stunning Zoom

Apple is set to take mobile photography to the next level with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Leaks suggest a new 48MP telephoto sensor capable of 8X optical zoom, a big jump from the 5X zoom on the iPhone 16 Pro models, which use a 12MP telephoto lens. This upgrade means sharper, more detailed zoomed-in shots, perfect for capturing distant subjects. The iPhone 17 Pro could be the first iPhone to feature triple 48MP cameras (main, ultra-wide, and telephoto), making it a photography powerhouse.

2. Vapor Chamber Cooling for Better Performance

One of the most exciting upgrades is the addition of vapor chamber cooling in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Unlike the graphene-based cooling used in the iPhone 16 series, a vapor chamber uses liquid in a sealed pipe to spread heat away from the A19 Pro chip and other components. This should keep the phone cool during heavy tasks like gaming or video editing, reducing thermal throttling and boosting performance. Leaks, including a diagram shared by @LusiRoy8 on X, show a large vapor chamber covering key components, a feature already common in high-end Android phones.

3. Bigger Battery for Longer Life

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to pack the largest battery ever in an iPhone, with a capacity exceeding 5,000mAh. For comparison, the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 4,685mAh battery. This upgrade could mean longer battery life, even with power-hungry features like Apple Intelligence and gaming. To fit this larger battery, the iPhone 17 Pro Max might be slightly thicker at 8.725mm, but the extra endurance will likely be worth it.

4. Camera Island Redesign for a Fresh Look

Apple is reportedly shaking up the iPhone 17 Pro design with a new camera island. Leaks suggest a horizontal, rectangular camera bar that spans the top half of the phone’s back, a big change from the square module used since the iPhone 11 Pro. The back panel might combine aluminium for the top half (with the MagSafe coil) and glass for the bottom half, housing the 48MP telephoto lens and other cameras. This mix of materials could give the iPhone 17 Pro a bold, modern look while keeping it lightweight.

5. Improved Selfie Camera for Better Selfies

Selfie lovers, rejoice! The iPhone 17 Pro, Pro Max, and even the standard and Air models are expected to feature a 24MP front-facing camera, doubling the resolution of the 12MP selfie camera used in recent iPhones. This upgrade should deliver sharper, more detailed selfies and better video call quality, perfect for social media and virtual meetings.
